We've had a rough day. Bobby got bitten by a spider and he's been to the doc twice so far and they stuck huge needles in his hand to try to pull out as much poison and decayed flesh as possible to try to prevent infection. He got bit on the knuckle of his thumb and the doc says there is a high risk of loosing his thumb. He goes back to the doc again wednesday for more shots and hopefully get the culture results back. I'm betting it's a brown recluse bite. We aren't new to getting bitten by them but we do have black widows around here too. We found them a few weeks ago.
I was bitten on the back several years ago and the doc said if it wasn't better in 2 days they would have to cut it out. I didn't go back. I took the antibiotics and kept it clean and I drained it myself. It eventually healed and I don't have a huge hole in my back from some knife crazy surgeon.
Then the youngest grandson Blaine came down sick with strep and he's running a fever and not eating or drinking much because his throat is sore.
And Gavin is coughing pretty bad. He's usually the one that gets strep and we end up in the ER several times because hiss fever gets so high and we can't get it down. It takes an IV and icepacks to get it down with him.
And I was thinking that my sick hen was a tragedy. She's well now and the guys in the house are sick.
My guys could sure use as many prayers as they can get. Thank you all so much in advance

Sorry to hear you guys are having such a bad run. Our prayers are definitely with you. I know how it is, seems like when it rains it pours but as with every storm this too will pass. Hope it passes quickly.

Thank you everybody. To add to it all, I got stung again. I'm swollen from my elbow down this time. Now Bobby and I are both down in our right arm and hand.

Bobby went into the hospital today. The infection from the spider bite has gotten into the joint of his thumb and the doc is hoping it's not in the bone. I don't know why they haven't taken an xray. He put him in the hospital to give him IV antibiotics then monday they're doing surgery. Depending on the damage they plan to go in and clean out the infection. If it's gone too far they're taking his thumb off. We're going with the other option. Bobby says they aren't taking anything off. I can't say as I blame him.
The boys are still sick but the baby's strep is better.

Bobby is home now. He had surgery yesterday to remove the dead tissue and we didn't know what the doc was actually going to do since we never got to see him. He did show up the day before surgery said a few things and was gone. Yesterday when he had surgery the doc called the room to tell me he did well and would be back in his room soon and he hung up. No chance to answer any questions. So last night Bobby peaked under the bandage and saw white and he thought he saw his bones. Today when the nurse changed his bandages the white he saw was the packing. There is a big deep hole in his hand and it actually looks better than it did before. I took pics as it progressed but I doubt you all would want to see them. They're gross. He has to go back to the doc, a different one, and have his bandages changed every couple of days.

He tried to go to work this morning but he got sent back home. I told him not to. They want a release from the doc and I don't think he'll get it. He has to go tomorrow for a dressing change. I'm sure he'll ask then. He's bored silly not being able to do anything. He's usually busy all the time.

He doesn't need to rush things. Better to be bored for a while than get an infection! Glad to hear he's feeling good though.

He's stubborn. He just had to put mink oil on a new pair of boots today and I had to change his bandages because he got them dirty. I always preach at him about taking care of a wound or injury but i'm no different. There isn't a surgery I haven't popped stitches or ended up with an infection. I was at Walmart shopping after a Major surgery when I wasn't even suppose to be driving. I just have to remind myself that i'm stubborn too.

I'm in no position to preach either. I was back up trying to cook dinner still mostly paralyzed just 2 weeks after my stroke and was back at work within a month. Guess you just can't keep us country folks down.

I was back at work in 4 weeks after the major surgery. I was suppose to be out for 8. I talked my doc into releasing me and I had gotten a bad infection just before that. I was at work with no stitches because the surgery site was infected and had to heal from the inside out. My boss only had to tell me about 3 times he would send me home if I moved out of my chair except to to to the bathroom. lol I just hated having to wait for somebody to bring me something to do. But it was better than being bored at home.
My doc said "you can't keep a good women down", I think me bing so active is why he agreed to let me go back to work. That and I promised not to do anything he said I can't do. I lied of course. lol
