My brother is home. He got to go home friday. They gave him some new meds that his body isn't handling very well. One of them dropped his blood pressure so low he almost passed out. His legs buckled and his wife caught him just in time. He has to go in to see his doc so hopefully they will get it adjusted right. I'm going up there for Thanksgiving. I hope the weather holds out till I get back.

I got my replacement cell and it's doing the same exact thing as the other one so now I have to send that one back. Pretty upsetting since it's got a 1 year guarantee they should have sent me a new phone instead of refurbished. Gavins phone is doing the same thing and happened jsut after mine did. Apparently this must be a common problem with these phones.
I hope everybody had a happy thanksgiving. We did. We went to see my brother and his family. That is his wife and kids. We had a great time. My brother is still having issues that have a large chance of not getting better. I know he was feeling bad but he pushed himself to much because we where there. I hope now that everything is back to normal he will rest up. He's lost alot of weight and is back to skin and bones again.
Now that we're home we got the Christmas tree up and Bobby got me a china cabinet and a dining table with 6 chairs. First time I've ever had a matching set. lol Thats my Christmas present and I'm thrilled with it. I finally got my chicken dishes out of the box and in the china cabinet. My rooster and hen figurines are now in the cabinet too. Now I have the counter to clutter up with other junk. lol. We still have the outside to decorate and I have my Christmas villiage to get put out then clean up the mess from removing our everyday decorations to put up the Christmas stuff. I have got to get a bunch of stuff to the Goodwill and get it out of the way.

Well, It's New Years Eve. Ever since my partying days ended the biggest part of our New Year is shooting off fireworks. This year we didn't save any back so I reckon when the ball falls I'll go to bed to celebrate the New years in my dreams. lol
On another note. I finally broke down and took the red frizzled silkie cockerel to the vet today, well yesterday because of it's eye. I've been trying for 3 months to get it cleared up with no luck. The vet gave him some eye drops I have to put in 3x a day and oral antibiotic (Bactrim) 2x a day. Luckily he is used to being handled so he is easy to put the drops in his eye and shove a feeding tube down his throat to give the oral antibiotic. I just hope it works. Soo since I will never get my money back from this bird it looks like he will be staying. Any ideas for a name? I've been calling him baby but I call all the young ones baby unless they aquire a name. Nothing has jumped out at me for him. After all we have been thru so far he deserves a name but I don't have a clue. I had a brief idea of Uno but I don't want to jynx anything. He can see out of both eyes

Good to hear from you again Gina. Hope everyone is managing the extreme cold. Keep those combs, waddles, and feet protected from frost bite.

I had to bring in 3 juvenile silkie boys becuase I had to ove them out of the juvie pen because they where getting to rough on the young girls. The pen they where in isn't winterized so in they came. Now I get to hear one of them crow and another one tries to. I really need to sell these boys but I have another week to wait since they are all in isolation. Depending on the lab results chooses their fate. Hpefully they can be sold, One is a beautiful white frizzled silkie cockerel. I had thought of showing him myself but I have enough boys around here. One of my 5 year old sizzle hens had a bad head cold and I got her well and she had a relaps. She is going to the vet tomorrow. My little red frizzled silkie boy is getting so big and handsome. I'll be looking for him some silkie girls this spring. Preferrably some that are red or have alot of gold leakage partridges. Not looking for perfect coloring but prefer nice feathering. So i anybody has or may have some like that kep me in mind. I'll be looking in the spring.
I FINALLY hatched out a paint chick. I've tried for a few months now and 1 hatched out of 7 eggs (this batch) I have a broody on 7 more and 7 more in the bator. I"m going to bring in another broody for the next eggs I will be setting. I"m only hatching the paints eggs. Or........well......trying to anyway.

Congrats on the Paints. Hope everything turns out good for you. We lost a couple young birds to the cold. Hopefully this warm weather this weekend will allow us to get things fixed and ready for the cold spell coming this next week. Brilliant me managed to bust our water pipe that goes down to the poultry and sheep/goat pens so I need the ground to thaw so I can patch it. Yay!! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I took Moe to the vet today. Her head cold turned out to be a bacterial infection and it went to her lungs. He gave her a shot of BActrim and steroid and by the time I got her home she was back up and eating and fussing to get out of the cage. I still have to give her Bactrim orally till it's gone but I'm hoping she will pull thru. I don't want to loose any more. I didn't want to loose the ones I did already. I heard a sneeze from Princess this evening but couldn't get to her to bring her in. I'll have to send GAvin in to get her tomorrow. My little paint is doing fine so far. It's a lone chick though. Poor baby. Don't have any more due till next week.
