Those 3 eggs may not make it. The bantam started hatching and i'm not hearing a peep at all from those shipped eggs. They where developing and I saw movement when I put them in the hatcher. So I broke down and bid on some eggs. I really need a partridge rooster to upgrade from the one I have now so the eggs I bid on are from somebody's eggs that have great reviews on hatch rates and quality. So hopefully i'll get them and they hatch at least a really nice rooster. Thats all I really need anyway. If I luck up and actually get a roo and a girl or two it would be all the better. Now. to tell the hubby. I think i'll wait. ;D Since i'm paying for them with the money i've made from selling eggs anyway no need to fret him over it all. lol

Bobby moved the quail to the other side of the garage where they're out of the weather and under a roof. He put up a couple of walls and plans to put a light on them. He moved the grow pen there also to keep the cold wind away from the chicks as much as possible. They have feathers but still they're babies. The man that owns the local pizza place has been picking up quail eggs everyweek. Unfortunately this past week they only laid 4 eggs all week then today I got 4. I still haven't gotten any form my bob whites. I have 1 trio and 2 pairs of them. The quail I had in the hatcher when you where here are nearly old enough to lay. A couple more weeks should do it.

Bob whites are seasonal layers and you might have to wait until spring. Putting them under lights might help but it's hard on them too.

I'll just wait till spring for the bob whites. I"m not hatching quail eggs right now anyway. I found a chick under a broody this morning and another egg was pipped. So my broody's babies are working on hatching now. Then in a few days the 40 sum eggs in the hatcher are due.

That broody hatched a white and a real pretty blue silkie chicks. That 3rd egg was one that was laid by another hen. I forgot one of her eggs got broken and the chick inside died. But the hatcher that has 40+ silkies and sizzles are starting to pip.

I would like some more silkies!!! ;D since some of mine disappeared the other day and also had my buff orphington rooster killed a few. He has been banned from the coop and pen. I will post some pics of my new coop on how it is coming along in. Let me know when they are ready and how much. Right now money is tight. but may can come up with some extra money for chicks.

I charge $5 each for chicks up to 3 weeks old. I have some that are about 2 months old outside in the grow pen that are $6 each. The newest ones that just hatched are mostly sizzles. Right now, it's a bit hard to tell the difference and they're all in the same brooder. Just let me know when your ready.

Since I posted on this thread last I've gotten a partridge silkie chick from a different bloodline that was was wanting. Now hopefully it's a cockereal. I got a porcelain silkie chick which is the first of that color for me and the types of sizzles are starting to show on the younger ones and are clear on the older ones. I have frizzled, smooth and soft sizzles. The silkies are white, splash, blue, black and partridge. That would be blue partridge and gold partridge silkies. I still haven't managed to get myself any buff silkies. I've made a deal for an egg swap with a local lady I do business with alot to get some LF polish. I told her the colors don't matter so i'll be adding another breed. I'm still looking for buyers for the ducks. So thats an update from me in the poultry world. My incubator isn't getting shut off just yet. I "said" this was my last hatch but now i'll have more coming about the time these go in lock down or close to it. Ok, I guess i'll go for a smoke then bed. Nobody is up here or online. If it wasn't for Ambien i'd never sleep. Have a good weekend everybody.

Here's the Sizzle Bobby claimed. His mother named it Daisy. But i'm thinking it's a cockereal. I hope it is. If it is this will be the one I put with the polish I spoke of in another thread. Attachments:

Here's a smooth sizzle. I'm thinking it's a boy too. Just look at that "stink eye" it's giving. Attachments:
