I have 5 Belgium booted & bearded Mille Fleur d'Uccles roosters that were hatched on August 23. They might weigh somewhere close to about 14-ozs at this time...should be around 20-ozs when grown. I live in-town Jackson and now that they have reached almost mature status, I have been hearing the tiniest little crowing from their cage from at least one bird. They have NEVER been on the ground and are in a raised cage, kept with wood shavings, etc. and have also been raised alone by themselves. They are going to be really pretty birds, except one has a club foot but has never had any problems.
I would like someone to take these that will provide a very good home for them. When I ordered them in August this year from IDEAL POULTRY, the specialty breeds must be shipped as "straight run" chicks only. I THINK they are all roosters...I almost cannot tell now as none of them really have any wattles to speak of and they are so small in size they do not grow of course like standard birds. Again, these are FREE...and if all goes well, except for the club footed one, should make some beautiful show birds I was hoping for down the road. They are really starting to show their white spots now. I have attached a picture of one that I copied online as a sample of them as they look today.
You can email me or just answer this posting...I wanted them really badly but cannot keep them as for the in town noise violation...the one I have heard has the softest crow but am only hearing one as of now but fear by sight alone they are all little roos...unless someone can tell me otherwise in person!
Again, looking for a great home for them....not a "chick mill" without concern for the breed standards, etc. And remember, these birds are "flyers" so they must be kept well secured!
Thanks in advance,
