So I go to my farm today and find a few feathers in my front yard, I'm thinking well poo something got a hen. Go in my barn and there are feathers EVERYWHERE. Just the soft down feathers though. All total 25 hens were taken and 4 of my rouens. We thought dogs at first til we noticed the missing ducks that were in a pen dogs couldn't get in, plus the geese are ok that were in the same pen. Then we found a chicken with a wrung neck and sadly my Rouen drake in the same state. No other harm done to them. I can't stand thieves!! I worked hard for all those animals and just got them healthy after the sick scare. The audacity of some folks......

Dont it make you want to tie them to a tree out in the woods and just beat the h**l out of them. If you do catch them and take it to extremes I will dig a hole for you guys. Some people talk a lot of trash but if I ever catch someone that sorry in my barn I already know what I am capable of . I go to my barn AT LEAST a dozen times a week with a pistol. Where are you located at Oldaker? I think that you need to do a little investigating on your own. I will BET you that they all end up at an auction soon.

Yeah Timbo, our lively dept says that it was a dog that most likely got them and that was that. Yes verlon, I would LOVE to tie them to a tree and beat the dog snot out of them. The ducks were pets as was one of the chickens. Course, apparently they also decided they needed one of my kittens, cause he is no where to be found, and he was the best one I had. I live in Crump. Just outside of Savannah. We are doing our own patrols now. And if we ever caught someone in the barn, we believe in shoot first, ask questions later. My father is all mad over it and going "hunting". He's prepared to treat any intruders he finds the same way he treated the folks when he was in Iraq. Hopefully we will catch them. If not, I hope they don't come back.

WOW, dad just got back from his patrol, and well, I now have no geese and he can't find any chickens. So apparently someone knows out schedule or vehicles or something cause yeah, this is getting ridiculous. Everyone in the adamsville/crump/Savannah area please watch your livestock closely!!!!!

Well I would suggest Trail cameras set up on and around the property. The new ones have IR flashes so the predator is unaware of its detection.

For everyone following this I wanted to put out some more information. Since this has posted I have heard of two additional people who have lost livestock. One of which, Herb (on here) knows. She was victimized last night and lost 6 pomeranian geese that she had gotten as hatching eggs from me. She had them in a teepee that was inside of a pen that was inside of an electric fence that had a dog in it...........woah, does that make sense? Anyways, they were nearly grown and all of six of them were taken. I know Debbie and how well she predator proofs her property, the other lady not so much so. Perhaps, we all need to invest in some of the trail camera's that Timbo wrote about. I agree with Oldaker, everyone keep an extra eye out for thieves.

Must be getting old. I have trailcam - time to put it out. Chicken thieves are about as low as you can get.

Just when you think people can't get any lower than thieving chickens, that can be a pretty easy job, I find there are people lower.... Kitten thieves!! Why anyone would want my barn kitties I have NO clue, but apparently someone did. At least the birds would flap around when grabbed ahold of, the kittens would just walk right up to you. Wow, talk about being targeted.

Yeah, apparently it's just turned into a free for all there. I guess they're just taking whatever they can. Maybe it's their way of getting their rocks off, who knows. Crazy though. I can maybe see if my stuff was worth something, but pffft, I'm sure my possessions reflect I'm nowhere near wealthy. Ya know what they say though, one mans trash.... And so on. Anyways, hopefully no one else is having a string of bad luck like me, but keep watching closely just in case, I'm running severely low on stuff to take so they'll have to move on soon. If we don't catch them first *devious thoughts*.

This is terrible, I hate people that think that stealing farm animals means nothing to the farmer. All mine are pets even thought they are also here for their eggs and meat. I really hope you can catch them. Just a thought, did you check out the flea market area in Crump? They may be selling them there. I'm so sorry this is happening, I agree shoot them is you catch them. Julie

That's how mine are, pets. Well the majority are. If I name it, it's a pet. 75% of all mine were named. It's not only frustrating but makes me sad. One of these days I'll quit naming so many animals. I'm sure everyone in my family would appreciate if I did lol.
