This is the most colorful sizzle i've gotten. He started out brown with black barring and his legs and feet where so heavily feathered he was funny looking. Just a few weeks ago he was the brown with black barring. Now he is a little of everything. My camera is lousy and where he appears to be blue from half of him down he is actually black. He has some feathers that have gold lacing and some that are barred. I named him Oddball from the start. I'm leaning towards a cockereal because of the comb. He hatched in late August. And had brown down as a new hatchling. My blue sizzle is his mother so he carries the frizzle gene. So i'm thinking on using him in the sizzle pen next year. See what I get. Attachments:

Thanks. I'm glad I kept him. I almost gave him away. If I had thought he was a she, it would have been gone. My husbands bosses girlfriend was just drooling over him but she don't need another boy. He got her some chicks back in the summer and she's got the silkie fever now. Those are bigger and spoiled rotten and she wants more. I told him it's his fault, he started it. And i'm an enabler, i'll help her build a flock. ;D

Here's Oddball now (along with about half the youngsters). He's standing in front of Gavin waiting his turn to be held. Attachments:

He sure did. I plan to use him in a sizzle pen next year. He's friendly, soft and cuddly. Oh and pretty too.

I was out taking pictures again today. I got a good one of Oddball. I've got another one that is similar to him. I'll see how much he favors Oddball when he gets older. He's already got alot of the same colors and designs in the feathers. He just doesn't have the black on him that Oddball does. Attachments:

I lost one of the young grey sizzles today. I don't know what happened. It was laing dead in the corner most of them sleep in. Maybe it got suffocated or something. I knew there was something wrong because when I open the door I usually get ambushed and it was all quiet. I reckon they're mourning the loss of their little buddy.

It has been a difficult week and with word of snow that made it worse. I'm suppose to have my 5 hours of freedome today and I doubt i'll get to leave the house. Only 1 good thing about that is I'll spend it cleaning out the sizzle pen and putting out fresh hay.
