I fixed that bird cage the other day with zip ties. I went to feed the other morning and he was out and harassing the other roos. He popped the top right off. Little buggar.
One of the good things ever made is a butter knife. They will pop the seal on a jar thats hard to open, can be used as a screw driver. Which is something I do alot. I use them to scrape tape off of things my fingernails can't get.
And paper towels. The uses are numerous.

Love those zip ties...which by the way, come 100/pack at Harbor Freight here in Jackson for $1.99 for 8" black or clear (or almost clear-whitish looking) and often the mixed colors are the same, depending on their stock at the time. Anyone who does not live here and wants me to pick some up before the next meet let me know...basically would be $2.10 tax included for 100 ties!
Another tip....for those labels you cannot scrape off, some hairspray will often work.

Just visited HF and got a couple packs of zip ties to repair cages. i drill a hole in my feed containers in small cages so they dont flip over when they try scratching the feed out

I save every tuna can, or can of similar size because I poke 2 holes just under the top rim and run sip ties through them. I use the cans as temp waters and feeders. They are very handy. I even use them as scoops for feeding youngsters and for treat cups

Cks4me, a hog ringer tool clamps wire around...well whatever. He uses his to mend fences and build cages. If duck tape won't hold it hog rings will.
