I'm just planning since I believe at least 1 of my straight run black australorp is a roo. Does anyone have a scalder and processer like the Whizbank chicken plucker? I can't have roos in my town so I'm planning on inviting the roo to dinner for the 4th of July. I got them the end of February and the way they've been growing, he should be ready by then. Thanks

When we process chickens and quail we skin them. The heck with plucking feathers. We don't process chickens enough to bother with having one of those machines that does the plucking.
Sorry I can't help you but I thought a reply was better than none. Maybe just skin it instead. It's healthier for you anyway. It won't make good fried chicken but baked and it's great.

One of the guys that comes to our sales has a plucker that he was telling me about this past week when i stopped by his house. I didnt get to see it or catch the name of the unit because i was in a rush, but it sounded pretty cool. He should be at our sales in the future. His name is Troy. He can fill you in on more info.
