We started out with the wire we had on Blue's pen when we lived next door and added more wire to it for a temporary pen for the Lavender Silkies till we could work on getting a house added. We put a sheet of fiberglass on the top and the bottom of the pen he put 4x4's to make it more stable and so it wouldn't get blown over. Then he made a frame on another day and actually installed it from the inside. Boy was that a pain in the tail feathers. I put up some chicken wire to cover the opening that was to be a door in the future to keep the chickens safe. The last 2 days we've been working on the house. We didn't have any plans, we just started putting it together. He of course started with the frame first this time and we used what was a ladder in another pen sometime in the past we had still for the bottom of the nesting area and he put a board at the front part to hold the nesting materials in along with the eggs. We decided to put in a door on each end that opens down. One to gather eggs and the other to feed and water. He covered the front with fiberglas so they had light inside. The top he used wood then on top of that he put a rubber roof to help hold in the heat in winter and keep the water out. Right now the door isn't on it yet but he has it made and i'll put wire on it and get it hung hopefully tomorrow. He will add the same rubber material he used on the roof on the back of the house where the chickens door is to also keep out the rain. Then it'll be painted. I have pics . Attachments:

We had fiberglas sheets on the back of the run part and a tarp on the side and front to keep rain out till we got the house. It looks so much better already. Attachments:

Looking in from the nesting area side. The door on the feeding side is down and you can see all the way thru. I hadn't put the lock on it yet at this point. Attachments:

Porcelain roo - Sampson From Bobbi Porto stock. My lavender roo that was intended to be with the lav split girls didn't fare the trip here and passed away last week. So I put his girls with the Porcelain rooster. I don't have pics of all the girls but there are 2 Porcelain girls and 3 lav split girls which will still produce porcelain chicks. Attachments:

This is the porcelain pullet. She hasn't joined the rest of the group. George and her have became buddies and she has been keeping George company. If you remember George is the one I colored hot pink last year. I didn't color her this year because she is moulting. All of these silkies are from Bobbi Porto's stock except the porcelain pullet. I got her as an egg from another breeder I only know as her screen name little ameracauna mom Attachments:

Thanks. I'm very proud to have them. If I ever get going and get my running around done i'll finish the last few things on the pen. Then on to the Paints pen. I have 2 hens laying but not fertile. I suppose because of the lack of space in the pen they're in now.
I'm hoping to get pics of the porcelain girls today.
