Ive met some of you at the Jackson TSC meet but thanks to the lovely sign Timbo posted today i found the forum
figured id interduce myself a little better.
Im Gemma,
origionally from Manchester England, i moved to CT abut 11 yrs ago and then moved down here to W.TN in october of 2011 to start up my own little homestead here in Finger, be a little more self sufficient and get back to the way of life thats in my genes (dad was a small farm boy )
Pink Fox farm is still in its early days and right now focused primarily on rabbits
i Raise and Show Standard Rex and Mini Rex and just getting involved with Holland Lop.
I have hopes of developing my own line of mini plush lops in the neer future too.
i also currently have 6 black indian runners who are comming up to 2 months old, 2 saddle back Pomeranian geese (babies) and 2 Young Nubian Does.
As time progresses and i get my land under control ill be expanding into poultry, heritidge pigs (GOS) and shetland sheep too!
But like anything else it takes time.
Im also fairly active in small scale rescue, so youll frequently see postings about my newest batch of roadside kittens or dropped off puppies looking for good homes.
in terms of none livestock on "the farm" its just me and my critters, 2 chinese crested dogs who are the light of my life, and an "american bandogge" rescue, whos my 6 month old 65lb Baby (cane corso x american bulldog)
Im also owned by a sever macaw, 2 lineolated parakeets, Lots of freshwater tropcial fish and 4 cats (one of which goes to her new home next month. lol)
Im a tad animal crazy, i take a great amount of pride (and time) in all my animals, how their raised and treated.
I "am" (dont work in the feild currently) a certified dog trainer and vet tech, and before moving to TN was a vector species wildlife rehabilitator and a Zoo keeper working with large carnivores.
im 27, but dont let the age fool ya lol, im no stary eyed "teen" that much i can tell you, ive seen much of the world and traveled alot in my early years, and it just gave me a better idea of what MY peice of heaven looked like
