im looking to expand my goat area, planning on doing it in electric, but the area i think would pe perfect for them (lots of tall rass weeds and some brush) is also way too thick for my little electric eed eater to cut a path trhough for putting up the fence. (and thanks to the neighbors dog i cant just let the girls out on tie outs without high risk. ) anywho, i need a smallish brushog, or indsutrial type mower (heck even one of those serious metal bladed weedeaters) to cut a path around the area i want fencing in. total path i need cutting out would be about 650ft long (or the perimieter of aproximatly 1/2 an acre, i can cut some of that myself with my weed wacker, but the back half of this proposed pasture is thicker weed and some small brush (nothing over 2") that id need to cut a path through. i dont need the whole 1/2 acre hogging (thats the goats job) but i do need ot have a path wide enough around it to instal the fence. Moneys tight, but i cant see this being a huge or difficult job (less than an hour for someone with the right equiptment) heck it would probably take someone with a proper hog 15 mins lol) but i want to try and get this sorted before the end of the month so i can get it fenced at the beginning of next. once the path is hogged i can at least keep ontop of it... Anyone? im located in Finger (38334) neer the post office and in the future will need more work done so this has the potential to become a repeat performance lol. will need an idea on price prior to "contract/agreement" do have baby s.rex bunnies available if someone might be interested in a trade or partial trade...I can mark out the general perimiter prior to you comming out to take a look/give a quote so youll know exactly where things need to go and get a better idea.

part brush (mostly privet and some bramble, privet isnt very thick on the branches but its tall...) and VERY tall grass. the previous owners had it brushhogged all the way back about 3 years ago but nothing has been done with it since. i know your fairly close so if youd want to stop by one afternoon and take a peek and see if your tracotr could handle it i can put the coffee pot on

must be a monster it would probably munch through this stuuff fairly easily lol. Im fairly flexible in terms of where the perimiter could go...im planning on buying enough wire to fence up 1/2 an acre, but i can always expand later. going to go snap a few pictures.

this would be looking down one side... where its mowed to on the left thats my property line id like to follow it back into where you see the tall brush and weeds going back... this is what it looks like when you get to where my weed whacker said "oh heck no" the weeds are about 4ft tall, id like to go back in a straight line to just infront of where the brush line gets thicker (id like to clear out that brushline out if possible but right now thats not a concern, (behind that brushline its a relitivly open pine grove) and then this is what the "brush" looks like on the back 1/4 of where id like the fence the thickest trunk in the very center is about 3 1/2" in diameter, everything else is 2" and under but quite dense...not sure if a tractor could get through it? that "clear" wood is about 2 1/2 ft tall above that is leaf...i literally just need a path cut through it as the goats LOVE this stuff and will clear the rest out for me easily lol.

thats a HUGE tractor, wow, i cant even imagine that beasty (i love tractors lol) this is the plot map... the area i wantthe goat pen is inside the green where you see that big thick bush, thats where that Thick brush is...where it looks thinner thats tall weed/grass if the brush is too thick id have no problem making the pen more of an L shape so we dont have to cut through that...but if we can give them acess to that area even better... im going to have a total of 659ft of fenceline to go in, dont realy care what shape as eventually i hope to do some serious clear out and eventually give them acess to almost the whole property lol. i just cant afford right now to clear out enough brush to get to the rest of the prperty lol.

thin is im not trying to clear everything out...i just want a path cut through so the goats can eat it all lol (free goat food) but if we cant get through the brush (being its only a small corner of the hoped "pasture") i dont mine fencing Around it if we have to for now. i simply cant afford alot of heavy machinery work right now if i could safely tether the goats out and let them do their thing it woudlnt even be a consideration...
id love to have a dozer and a trackhoe and such come in (that front left sector is ALL olf roofing shingles, pallets and junk im going to need to have a HUGE pit dug and everything pushed in and burried) but theres a buttload of brush hiding al that too. the back line (where you see the white branches) is Not brush thats all pine birch and oak but yeah, the property is a mess and im just trying to reclaim it sector by sector lol.
If someone with a dozer could come in and do the same (doze apath around about 1/2 acre) that would work too lol. the green line in the cleared area ive already taken the weed wacker too...its primarily the back half of that area that i need some kind of help with.

Maybe a small chainsaw and few hrs manual labor is what you need right now. Is there any kids in neighborhood wanting to make few dollars. Get few hand saws and let them take some anger out lol.

not only that but could you imagine the lawsuit if someone slipped with a saw or something?
Ive got a friend with a sawsall whos going to try and come around this wek and see if we can get through that little patch of brush that way lol...and im going to keep hacking away with my little weed wacker and see how far i can get lol. Im new to this "seriously overgrown" stuff so no idea what various farming impliments can handle...my neihgbor keeps insisting that i "just need someone to come in and brush hog it back to the tree line" but my brain cant wrap itself around any kind of giant mower hacking though the brush and long grass lol.

well it looks like ive managed to get myself a path through the brush... once i got past the first 5 ft of thin but close together stuff it opens up back there quite nicely so i mostly had to do some low limb trimming. i do still however have to tackle that patch of very long grass/weeds, id say theres about 150 ft to tackle, its grass and tall weed (about 4ft tall) and a big tractor would definatly be overkill... Can anyone loan/rent me one of those super duty weed wackers with the metal blades or a small brush trimmer/mower...my machette goes through the stuff no problem BUT its going to take me forever and my shoulder was NOT happy with that movment...so i need a oterized machette of some kind....(and my ntiial idea of jerry rigging my machette TO my weed wacker was vetoed by my brain after about 1 second after the idea poped into my mind
oh come on folks tell me it doesnt sound like the most awesome and messy DEATH CAUSING instrumet of chaos and mahem ever
even a gas trimmer with those heavier duty nylon lines would probably work... my electric weed eater however...not so much with the nom nom of 4ft tall green stalked weeds...
