I discovered that I lost power to the incubators a few days ago and I didn't find it out till early this morning. I had dropped a flashlight and it must have knocked the plug loose from the wall. I didn't even notice the indicator lights hadn't came on.
I candled the eggs and there where some that showed life and I heard faint chirps. There where even some pips. So today one had gotten half way around and stopped zipping and started chirping real loud I came to the rescue so I thought. It would have been better to have just let it expire on it's own. I don't know if it was because of the eggs cooling off or if the chick just had problems to begin with.
Has anybody had this happen? Loose power a few days and chicks hatch with problems? If so i'm just gonna dump the rest of the remaining eggs. I lost all the paint silkie eggs but 1 and my hens are broody so no more eggs from them right now.

That is tough. I know they can hatch if it hasn't been too long, but a few days may be too long. Sorry about your hatch.

Three chicks hatched. Just amazing. These 3 are fine........so far. There are 2 that pipped but I think they died. No sound out of the other 2. The 1 paint and 1 porcelain that I think are ok aren't due till July5th. I lost all the jb quail eggs and I suspect the bw too but I left them just in case. They aren't due yet. I took a pic of the 3 chicks but I have to transfer them to my laptop. I'll post them later. I had 2 partridge and a sizzle. They all look very similar except the partridge have some gold on them. All 3 are pretty fluffy and haven't fluffed up all the way yet.
