I got 6 chicks from Tractor Supply and one turns out to be a boy. He is starting to crow and we live in Jackson. What is best to do? Is there a rooster rescue? ha ha Anyone want a beautiful red rooster. Hatched in march.

It's almost impossible to get rid of roosters. Post him on Craigslist as a freebie. Chances are somebody that wants to fill their freezer will take him. I need to do the same. I traded a roo somebody wanted to put with a hen they had but I really didn't need the roo they wanted to swap but I'd much prefer that the one I had didn't end up in somebody's freezer so I traded with them. Now I have a roo I need a home for. He may end up in our freezer before long.

I have recently been able to place my roosters easily. Really happy about that. I have a friend who has guys who buy them and kill them right there, he calls them the mafia. Your guess is as good as mine!!!
