We went to Nashville for the 4th of July and other than nearly having a heat stroke it was great. We went to the Grand Ol Opry the night before and on the 4th we spent it in town. We went early to ensure a spot up front around 9 am. The bands didn't start till noon. I don't think i've ever been so hot in my life. We kept going to the misting stations and soaking ourselves to cool down. But besides the horrible heat we had fun. The fireworks where the best we've ever seen. There was an Orchestra that the fireworks went with. It was just fantastic. The whole fireworks show seemed like a finale but when it did finally come it was just awsome. It was a free concert and they're doing it again for New Years in the same place. We where suppose to be on TV and it was broadcast live on the radio. Craig Morgan was the main show but there where many bands that where just as good. There where song writers singing the songs they wrote like "Jesus take the wheel" And the Mavericks came back after 20 years and they where great. The man on the keyboard was hilarious. I think he had fire ants in his shorts. lol I got some video footage on most of the bands. There where a few hours that we had to retreat to a cooler place and we went to Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville bar and grill. The food was fantastic. The misting tents where what we looked forward to most of the day. After a short walk the heat was more than what I could stand so I would stand under the water running off the roof of the tent and get soaked. It was vigorating and made it more bearable till my cloths dried then it was back to the tent. Bobby got an autograph from one of the Titans football players. I have no idea who he was, i'm not the football fan but he was excited about it.
The picture is Craig Morgan. You can see the people on the bridge behind the stage. It filled up as it got later in the evening. There where over 100,000 people there. And the parking lot when everybody was leaving was a show too. We just sat in our car with the air on watching everybody in the parking lot we where in trying to force their way in line to get out. It was hilarious. Some backing into line and others standing in front of cars blocking them so their driver could get in line. It was crazy. Our hotel was only about 10 minutes away and it took us an hour and a half to get there.
Just wanted to share.
Sorry, pic wouldn't load
