I have Black Copper Marans, Blue Copper Marans, and a few Wheatens. My chickens are from the Bev Davis lines and are the French variety with lightly feathered legs. The hens lay very dark chocolate color eggs. I am located near Jackson, TN. Attachments:

Great looking eggs. I have some babys from her line and am anxious to see their eggs. Do you sell eggs? Do the blues lay dark eggs also?

First of all...I am so sorry for the super delayed response to your post! I'm still new to the forum and I forgot to check for others' posts. The Marans are SUPER layers so even though I have a small number of them, I accumulate lots of eggs. When I am not saving them to hatch, I give eggs to neighbors and families who need them for food. Yes...The blues do lay dark eggs. I also have two wheaten pullets (very pretty color!) who are laying large very, very dark eggs. This spring I'm going to hatch some wheatens, along with blue coppers and black coppers. I'm sure your chicks have started laying by now. Hope you are getting lots of pretty dark eggs!
