I had no idea a sweat bee could do this. It stung me on my middle finger. I'm wondering if it was the one I smacked and it was trying to tell me something. It itches so bad and burns at the same time. It's worse than a wasp sting. Attachments:

I finished the job. I had about 4 quail left to do and with batting at bees I got them done. I've been stung by honey bees and those red wasps and this is way worse. The itching is driving me crazy. When I don't scratch or rub it the itch goes up to my elbow in a straight line. As soon as I do something like rub or scratch the itch goes away temporarily in my arm. I'm taking Benadryl and it's still swollen pretty bad. If it swells more I'll get it seen too. It hurt like the dickens when it stung me. Then I got mad and started killing every one that landed on anything. I wasn't gonna let a tiny bee run me off.
Everytime we process any thing these stinkin bees show up. They must be part vampire.

I had forgotten I had some Hydroxyzene from when I had poison oak ealier this year. I took one this morning and it sure helps alot. I don't itch hardly at all when before I couldn't hardly stop from scratching. It felt like I itched all the way to the bones and up to my elbow. Only the middle part of my hand is swollen so I can still type thank goodness. I'd have puter D.T's if I couldn't. lol I can't hold a knife to peel or cut though. Oh well, I guess it's Pizza tonight. ;D I've bruised my knuckle from scratching so much.
I advise everybody to avoid sweat bees if you can. I got stung by red wasps last month and it was nothing compared to this. I'm glad i'm not allergic or i'd be in the hospital over a little ol bee. Next time we do any more chickens i'm gonna have some wasp spray handy.

The swelling is almost gone now. That wasn't long. The itching is nearly gone also. I still don't want to get stung again by those bees again. That hurt.

I'd rather be stung by a wasp. I still have 6 more chickens to process and I know those little buggars will come to the party. I'll be ready fot them next time. (i hope)

I have had the same thing happened to me. It takes a while for them to go away and if you scratch on that spot in a week or so it will itch all over again!!

I have had the same thing happened to me. It takes a while for them to go away and if you scratch on that spot in a week or so it will itch all over again!! I found that out yesterday. The only place that itched was on the sting site and I scratched it and it was driving me nuts the rest of the day. I'm wondering if it was a sweat bee. I saw a bee yesterday that looked just like waht stung me but it was alot smaller which is what I thought sweat bees size was. This that got me is much larger. Oh and a real kicker, one rode on my cloths inside the house with me. It was crawling on my neck and I swept it away and it was one of those bees and I haven't been able to find it since. I think we have every type of bee there is right here in our yard................somewhere.
