I running this on a new string b/c I want you all to read. I just talked to the girl and if we can get together an order for a ton of food, and Gina you are half that, she will sell it to us for $10 a 50# bag.....Even if you drive a little if you are paying 15.00 a bag you are saving 5 a bag. You would still be making out right? Reg prices on a bag is 12.00 a bag so it is still 2.00 off her cost. Let me know guys this is a great deal, I think any way. ;D

Is this a high protein feed? Is it specifically one type like layer crumbles/pellets, chick starter/grower, scratch?
I buy different for the different birds I have. I use crumbles for all the birds except the turkeys and guinea and they get pellets with scratch mixed in. I also mix scratch in with layer crumbles in the fall and winter to add some fat to them for the cold weather. The quail get crumbles. Would I be able to buy it in the forms that I get it in now? It would be worth the trip for me to save up to $5 a bag. The problem would be in winter when the roads are bad. I can drive in it but many others can't and thats what scares me.
Every year I hear it's gonna be a bad winter or bad summer. It's gonna be what it's gonna be. I'll find out when it gets here but I won't travel long distances on bad roads.
Where is her store located at?

Are you talking layer food? I generally use pellets, but would consider crumbles. I'll have to check with the guy in Corinth as well. I won't have the extra money until the end of October.

Yes, it would not be cost effective for you to get it from there, or probably even from me, since I am about 15 miles South of Jackson. I have spoken to the owner once before and my dad has known them for years. They mix their own feed. We just briefly spoke on the subject once and he said he would make me a deal if I bought 1,000# and a better deal if I brought barrels. I will check it out and weigh my options and report back.

C I have alot of bantam breed and the quail can't eat the pellets so to keep from having to keep too many containers of feed I just use the 3. I did try the silkies on the pellets and they would rather eat dirt. I'd rather they ate the feed I give them so I went back to crmbles. What little they waste that is practically dust I pour out on the ground and the wild finches eat. So it's not a total waste.

I generally use pellets and I generally use Prime Quality, but lately I have used Tucker because it's cheaper and my chickens seem to do just a good on it.
