I got a 7 month old pair of call ducks over the weekend. I want to make a pen for them with a little pool. They are in a small pen now with a rubber feed pan of water for them to play in.
How big does it need to be? Do I feed them same as my chickens or do they need something else? Pics would be good.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant how much room do they need in their pen and house. I plan on putting a small pool for them inside the pen.

We have a pair in a pen about 10x16. They have a kiddie pool and a small dog house with straw for laying.

i would say they would need doudble the square ft than chickens because they are so messy. So at least 4 square ft per bird if not more. at least thats my thoughts.

Thats about the size we had for the ducks we had. We dug them a mini pool with a ramp that went down in it. One thing I wanted to do before we built up the walls was to put in a drain. I suggest if you dig a mini pond for them put in some kind of drain because the water will get plum gross in a very short time and you'll want to change it. I spent the hot hot summer bailing out the mini pond with a bucket and scrubbing the lining with a brush then hosing it down and bailing out that nasty water. My idea for a drain was a PVC drain pipe with a screw on cap on the outside so you don't have to stick your hand in the nasty water. One of those people have for a clean out that sticks up above the ground. This would stick out the side at the bottom of your pool/mini pond. If we ever dig another one I'm gonna have the materials for the drain before hand.
