So how did the hatch end up?? Sounds like you did a great job. Is this your first hatch? If so you really did do great. Let us know.....

We ended up with a great hatch, 26 from the incubator and momma hen just hatched another yesterday for a total of 4 for her! Yay!
I absolutely love to watch her with the babies! She is such a good momma. We got rid of the rest of the eggs she was sitting on because they were cold. I am sure she could not sit on ALL those eggs and take care of those 4 little ones. So sweet! If I can get her to go broody next year, I will never hatch eggs in the incubator again. I was SO stressed. My 26 babies are doing very well. They are getting so big! Thanks for all the advice!

I wish she could have hatched more. Went to visit today and she was still in the brooder box. She had lots of trouble walking at first when I made her get up and about, but when I left her, she had settled down in another part of the coop with her 4. The others came in and investigated, but were not mean at all. I think she had just sat for too long. My husband tells me to just leave her be, she's the momma and this is what she does. Quit worrying he says!

They are better at raising chicks than we are at raising them.
