I hate UPS...... paid extra for this thing "my ups" so that if a package was coming which needed a signature I could release them from that since I can't be home to sign for packages.....Well I had ordered a EcoGlow 50 because I have babys in a hatching unit waiting to come out and couldn't bring them out without the heat....soooooo they would not leave the package..no ecoglow......Now I am told that I got the wrong information...they can not leave the package even though I paid extra for this special service. Also part of the my ups is that I was going to be able to request a time when I would be home.....NOW I am told oh yeah you can request but it is up to the drivers route if he can do it!!!!!!! SO I ask you what the hell did I pay for? Obviously just another way to milk people of their money. Hate UPS.

I deal with crap like that all the time with usps. I ship eggs all over the U.S. and priority mail is suppose to be guaranteed to arrive at it's detination by 3 days. It's been taking anywhere from 3 to 7 days for my customers to get their eggs. But the usps says as long as it arrives even if they get returned back to me they won't give a refund. I got the top of a box back once. Just the top that had the shipping label on it and they refused to issue a refund because I received part of the box. The delivery people did their job so no refund. Yeah Right!! I've gotten eggs many times from when I ordered or swapped for them and the box was leaking egg from it. Still no refund for damaged items because they won't even honor it when insurance has been purchased for the contents because it's eggs.
This is how I make my money to pay for feed and whatever my chickens may need and the Post Office is basically taking feed from my chickens. I get pretty fumed over it myself.
Can you put your babies in a storage tote and hang a heat lamp over it somehow? I use those expandable screens that you put in your windows. I put the hanger between the screen and lay the screen over the aquarium or tote and use a thin board to hold up the light end by placing it across the tote. You can do the same for the other side of the screen to keep it from falling in. If it's pretty cold on my porch I lay a towel over the screen.
