My friend Bruce and I bought a portable sawmill last year. We have some storm reclaimed cherry and walnut in my barn loft that should just about be ready to use. We have several cherry and walnut logs to saw when it cools a bit.
We try to reclaim storm damaged and urban logs that commercial mills won't touch. We are still in the novice stage.

What kind did you get? And, how do you like it? I've looked at a couple of brands, but would like to hear some real customer feed-back (not the ones the salesman wants you to read).

Norwood Lumber Lite. We like it. The company was fine to work with.

Is that the one where you use your own chain saw, or the "band saw" version?
I looked them up on the www, and they look as good/or BETTER than the ones I had been looking at.

Are you just getting the downed trees or are you cutting them also? We have about 3.5 acres I would love to have select cut. I'm not sure of how to go about it and how much I could expect to get from it.

I would think it might sale at the meet at a reasonable price. I would love to have someone to bring some to the poultry show to setup and sell. that would be great.
