I have been asked by a neighbor if "chicken" mites are able to "bite" humans...I did not have the answer and wondered if anyone knew. I have not had to deal with them yet on my young pullets I got as chicks at 2-days old from the hatchery and did not know but told her I would seek the answer from the "PROS"!
Any thoughts?
Thanks, Mike

Mike they can and will bite but most of the time they will not live long on humans because they need heat and dampness such as under the wings and around the vent area the most anoying thing is the feeling of 1 just crawling on you then feels like millions on you for reatment to get rid of them is to dust with sevin dust and use pour on ivemec spray the house with permithrin and malithon thanks james

Thanks...I have not had to deal with them here yet as I said, luckily, and a neighbor had asked about them and human contact.
I appreciate it very much, Mike
