I'm not having any luck a all hatching out any Marans. I don't have any and have yet to get an egg to hatch that people have given me or i've gotten in swaps. Is there a trick to them or what? My EE's eggs have been hatching. My girls lay nice blue/green eggs. I think they are pretty eggs and one of my customers actually told me I should have people in line for their eggs but unfortunately I don't. Wouldn't do them much good now anyway because they stopped laying. My silkies have started laying and my Buff Orphingtons are about to.

Mine have stopped laying also even though they have lights on in the houses and get extra vitamins. It looks like there is a speckled sussex in there. I have six and really like them, they have good personalities. I really want to get some either black or copper marans but need to hold tight till closer to spring. Just sold five birds the other day.

Mine hatch best if they are the only kinds of eggs in the bater/hen. Also, I run the humidity low. Do you use an incubater? What humidity?
