Hey, that is like making ones own furnace once the eggs warm up she will just in reality re-warming herself! Smart girl! She will be out of drafts, wind, weather, etc., as well as getting you some early pullets to sell next spring! Sounds pretty smart on her part.

I hope some of mine go broody in the spring, Gina, as I want to get some fertile eggs from you then and let them set my next crop of layers. I think the Marans egg yolks are even darker than most of the others are as well as the shells.

leora, as soon as she raises them for awhile, I'll probably let them all go. I have plenty already. Mike, my clean shank marans set at the drop of a hat, but the feather shank ones are not so eager. Hopefully you'll get one, but I warn you, they are monkey see-monkey do. If one starts, the rest are likely to follow.

They are cuckoo marans. I should have plenty in a couple of months. Right now they are on sabbatical.
