Does anyone ever have Welsummer hatching eggs or any Penedesenca (from Spain) hatching eggs? I would like to add some of these dark egg layers to my Marans and see what I can get from any of these pullets. Of course I will have to get a setting hen next spring first! Just wondering and already planning Spring 2011! If anyone does, please help me remember this next spring maybe. Kind of a chicken keepers Christmas wish list for our terrible "addiction" to our need to add to our flocks. I wish I may...I wish I might...I wish for more chickens every night!
Thanks, Mike...aka...Garden Daddy

I know Gina...but what a way to go, right?!?!? Thanks, Herb, I will remember that if/when I get a setting one later on.

Mike, there is a guy in Tipton County who has welsummer's for sale on Craigslist. He has trios for $40, I think. Not sure if you could talk him out of the rooster or not.

I am hoping to get some fertile eggs in the spring if I get another broody hen then. But thanks. Maybe he will have some fertile eggs later on to sell. Thanks, allie!
