I noticed today that one of my hens is slightly limping and has an access in between her toes on one foot. I thought it might be bumblefoot but this isn't on the bottom of the foot. It's the top webing.
All of the treatments I have read about are for open sores. This hasn't come to a head yet. Is there something I can give her now to possibly reduce the swelling and stop it before it gets to that point? Or do I have to wait and let it open up?

I'd start giving her penicillin injections.

Definitely bumblefoot. Started soaking the foot today and noticed what I thought was a small piece of dirt was actually a scab forming on the bottom of the foot. Once the scab fell off we managed to get a little bit of the yuck out but I'm not sure how much. We mashed on it a good bit.
Once we got out what we could, I just scrubbed it with an iodine pad, packed it with ointment and wrapped it. Gave her a shot of agri-cillin as well.
Anyone else dealt with this? How often do I need to change the bandage and what are the chances the bird will make it.
Of course it's one of my best hens! ugh.

You did it right. I never bandage one though.

I've had pretty good luck with it,though it takes awhile. Some people will lance it and clean out the gunk, but I've heard other people say it was not necessary. I lanced one, cleaned the gunk, packed it with neosporin and bandaged it. I only changed the bandage every few days. Keep her put up,off the ground if possible. Inject her at least twice/day. ntibiotics work best when a steady dose is present. It took a few weeks, but she came through it fine,

I gave her 1/2 cc last night. What dosage should I be using and how often?
I was just going to give her a 1/2 cc every night for about 5 days. Is that wrong?

Depends on the size of the hen. Mine was full size and I did 1cc in the morning and 1cc in the evening.

I gave it in the fleshy part of the thigh and alternated thighs with each injection.

Well its good to know that 1cc won't hurt. I was just going off of the ultimate fowl wiki page that said a half a day.
