Hey! our very sweet and loved little Serama roo, Paul Bunyon seems to have a respiratory infection. After a bit of research I think I need to get him Doxicyline tablets syrup or powder for his water. Does any one have any idea where to get this? To order I need a vet prescription, and I really don't want to go to a vet for a chicken. Or any other Ideas? My 11 year old is beside herself, it is her little guy.

Mary, Earlier in the Fall My favorite Banty almost died from a respitory infection. I didn't catch it until he was laying down on his side; barely breathing and had a death rattle. I went to TSC and got some yellow powder that you mix with water(Can't remember the name right now & i'm at work). It worked like a charm. He's the cock of the walk again. I'll let you know the name of it when I get home.

This past summer in the crazy heat wave we had I had a few that had some kind of respiratory infection. I gave them a shot of Tylan 50 1/2cc under the skin for 3 days. knocked it right out. If you don't mind giving shots. Make sure you pull the eggs no matter what you give them.

I got the powder from Halls. I do not mind giving shots..even though I have only given them to horses and dogs. But I am not sure where to get the Tylan...TSC again? Thank you guys.
