I had a roo kill one of my hens that he didn't like. That would have been the last hen he killed if he was mine. I have two that I'm starting to call Stew and Casserole "Cass" for short. Free RIR roos!!

I am so jealous of you all....I wish I had roosters so I could get some fertile eggs myself.

Gee thanks! You must be trying to get me run out of town here...funny...very-very funny!
I would love a whole farm full of birds but do not have space or enough land here in town. Maybe one day. Dreaming, dreaming....dreaming! I have designed the best coop in the world if I ever "buy the farm"!

Did you have any trouble with temp or humidity?

I have them in the house, so I didn't. But I might have kept them too low. I kept them at a steady 99.5, because I have a sneaking suspicion that's where I went wrong on my last batch, they probably got too hot at the beginning. So I think was trying to avoid that happening again.
I'll get the hang of it eventually.

Our first hatch is due Sunday. This morning when my husband added some water to the incubator a few of the eggs were rocking and rolling. Can't wait to see the first babies of the year
