Hello, I live in Drummonds Tn. I am new to the area, a mother to four children and a military wife. My husband and I have decided that we really wanted to raise some chickens. I grew up on a small ranch in Texas and am familiar with the lifestyle. (not that I did any of the work) bless my Mother LOL. We bought our first 3 one week ago and everything is going well so far I still after reading so much on the internet have a lot to learn. My husband has started building my coop which will be a cute little cottage for my girls. I still would love 1 to two more chicks and am looking for Cochins, I love their nurturing personalities and think they would do well in our Family. I have now 2 BO's and 1 Bantam pullets. Its nice to meet all of you and hope to get advice and help in the future.

Hi tjwharton. I live in Brighton so we are somewhat neighbors. LOL Let me know if you ever want some Cochins. I may hatch some in a couple of weeks and you can have one if you want it.

Welcome! I live in Brighton, too (jojo is my husband). Are you still looking for a cochin? We have a blue one that is a month or so old. I'm not sure if it's a boy or girl, but it is the "mama" of the baby house. All the other babies get up under it's wings at night. It is really sweet and will let you hold it and play with it. I would keep it, it's so sweet, but I am going to be getting 5 new Wyandottes from Gardendaddy soon. We also have some red babies-I think they are supposed to be Rhode Island Reds, but I'm not sure (we inherited them), a light brahma, and cuckoo marans chick that we need to find new homes for if anyone is interested.
