I live in the Mllington TN area. Can someone please help me with my search.. I want to be prepared since my chickens will have some free range and i have read about the possibility they could get gapeworms and tapeworm ect... I need a Vet for my chicks or a website where I can purchase meds

Hey TJ...Most feed stores and often your co-op will have some wormers, other needed meds as needed. Also, there are some online ordering places that will sell to you. As most of the time in our day and time, most Vets are small animal...dog & cat and really do not know about our birds. We have a lot of folks in our group that have kept birds for YEARS and know more than any vet does so feel free to ask someone here. I have found our group most valuable and reliable.
There is I think, Mid-South Seed & Feed and TSC (Tractor Supply) in Millington I think should have any wormers, etc. for chicken health that would satisfy any needs I think.
Have Fun and good luck,
Mike

Hey TJ. We live in Brighton and get most of our meds from TSC. We did recently purchase some Poultry RX and they either didn't have it at TSC or it was very expensive, but they had it at Mid-South.

TJ-Someone already bought it, but we have an incubator full of eggs and some of them are probably cochin. I'll let you know if any of them are. So far only one has hatched and it's a mystery, I have no idea what it is (we got the eggs from a friend). It's black with yellow on it's chest, booty, and wing tips, with feathered feet.
