I had a small flock of 6 last year. I love the colored eggs but at the time I had LF and was getting more eggs than what I could do anything with. I attempted to sell the extra eggs but didn't have any luck. With so many relatives around they figured I should just give them to them instead of them have to pay. They don't realize we pay for the feed. So I sold the entire flock and all my LF chickens and kept silkies. Although their eggs are small I can trade and sell them alot easier than the others. There is such a debate if they are ameracauna or EE. Personally they lay colored eggs and thats all I cared about. So when I offered their eggs for trade or sale I usually got somebody wanting to debate if they where ameracauna or EE. Not worth the trouble.
The only LF breed I have now is black Orphingtons and they are for my own personal egg supply. That is when the girls get old enough to lay.
If I still have this pullet I have now when I come to the swap, I'll bring her.

The differnce in the EE's or others are confusing. From what i have understood the EE's are mixes.

The color of their feathers is also an indication if it's an EE or Ameracauna. Leg color too, and they only lay blue eggs. I started out with 1 according to the specifications was an EE. I bought an EE roo at an auction and I hatched out several of their eggs which where olive color eggs and the ones I picked to keep where 4 pullets. Three of those turned out to be Ameracauna's according to their appearance. Only 1 laid a blue egg and 1 never laid an egg.
The very opinionated people on a site with a thread just for Ameracaunas clain that EE's can produce pure Ameracauna's and pure Ameracauna's can produce EE's. I raed a history on them and it was the EE that was first. Somebody decided to breed them to lay only blue eggs and have that certain appearance and specific colors. So it seems to me that the EE is the pure bird. I pointed that out and OH BOY! did I stir the pot.
I left that thread and I haven't been back. Although I like having the different colors in an egg carton, it wasn't worth the trouble of not being able to sell the eggs either for eating or hatching. I just loved those birds. Two of them where my favorites.
I soon found out that it isn't just that breed some people get all bent out of shape over.
I do this as a hobby. If I was trying to make money I would be bankrupt. lol
I hope you find what your looking for. If not and I still have this one I have at the swap you can check her out.

I know how that is. We seem to always have a grandchild or two here and rarely get a break. I insisted last weekend that we be chldless. We can't get away because there is nobody to tend to the critters.
We don't raise chickens for the money either. If we did we would seriously be in trouble. I do alot of egg swapping. I usually pick out one or two to keep to improve my flock and take the rest to the auction or sell them from home. We don't make enough to pay for all their feed but it helps some.
I just enjoy them and it gives me something to do.

We have one that color and one that is the same coloring, but lighter. I'm not sure of the color, either. Is it considered blue wheaton?
