Just wondering, but does anyone sell Serama Bantams that plans to bring some for the Aug 27 sale at TSC next weekend? Other very small Bantams, preferable 16oz for hens or smaller when mature? Just wondering out loud again...
THANKS,
Mike...aka...GARDEN DADDY

We've looked for some Seramas but haven't been able to find any. Our OEGBs are part Serma. They are really hard to hatch out and raise. Good luck finding some

Allie,
I thought I might like a few just to let loose in the yard and try to see how they do but will just keep looking...some are really little, like I said less than one pound each I have seen on line. Hopefully though someone will bring some small birds that I can contain here in the city that I can let run at least ALMOST LOOSE anyway. You know how we all are...one bird is too many and 1-million would not be enough!
IDEAL POULTRY in Texas has some Golden Sebrights that are fairly small, I think around 19 or 20oz. for mature hens I think and I might go ahead and order some chicks soon from them. I saw on their sight today they have some hatching on August 31 this next week or two. They look like Golden Laced Sebrights from the drawing...but who really knows. They might be OK. I might have to keep the roosters in the spare room upstairs to keep them a secret from crowing OUTSIDE and get me thrown out of the neighborhood then put the hens with them one day a week if I wanted fertile eggs...hmmmm....thinking...thinking...! They also have some Black Tailed White Japanese Bantams that look good as well.
Thanks, Mike

Like you said before, there is a little banty love at our house. Our two silver duckwing hens (at least we think that's what they are) and our little banty cochin (the one I posted pictures of before trying to figure out what she was) have started flying up on my shoulders and walking around the yard with me. It's funny to see 3 hens all perching on the same shoulder at the same time. From our experience bantys are much more loving and friendly and want to be around you more than big chickens. And they are so small most people won't realize they are chickens

These are what I have. I also have a pullet from the brown spotted hen and she was with a roo that matched her in color at the time. He passed away though and she is now in the pen with the mixed color banty's. I really have no idea other than oegb's of what they are. The pullet is in with what is suppose to be a jap bantam cockereal. I'll try to find a pic of them. These are all small birds. I won't be at the aug 27 swap but plan to have one here at my house Oct 1st. I still have to find out if I need a permit. Attachments:

Here's the other 2. They're older now but I couldn't find a recent pic. If you have an incubator or a broody hen I can most likey find you some serma eggs. Attachments:

I appreciate it very much but just do not go to the trouble to locate any eggs. I happen to have a broody Buff Orp now, who is sitting on 8-Cuckoo Marans eggs for Gina for about 10 days now and should be hatching around Friday or Saturday, Sept 2nd or 3rd. So she will be "over it" before I could get her to sit on new eggs now after the hatch date of her clutch.
I will just probably either give up the idea till late next winter or into the spring of 2012. Maybe someone will have some next weekend that I will be just as happy with or again, just wait.
Thanks so much though,
Mike
