The results are in. She's a girl. ;D It's official as of today. She laid her first egg. Now the wonder and questions are over. A huge boulder lifted off my shoulders. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out which she was. Now I can give one less thing so much thought.

I've never been so happy to see a first egg from a pullet as I was hers. Amazing how something like that can bring such joy. lol

Silkies are notorious for going broody. If you have enough of them you'll always have one. Or they will all be broody. It's happened here before. Both my white hens started laying now one is molting, go figure. Egg sales are down anyway. I've been swapping eggs for chicken items to decorate my kitchen with. I still sell some here and there but they aren't bringing what they where. Probably since it's getting close to time most people shut down their bators. Maybe I should do the same. NOT! lol I switched the partridge i'm taking to the show. I may be making a mistake but maybe not. I'll find out. If somebody has one of those poodle silkies mine won't have a chance. When I say poodle, I mean the real fluffy ones that always win in shows. It's my goal to breed up to those SQ sikies. I've spent the spring and summer swapping eggs to get some good quality silkies and have gotten none out of all the chicks i've hatched this year. This winter i'll be hatching from my flock. Maybe I'll get a good one or two that I end up keeping. I'll spend my winter staring at chicks hoping to see SQ showing up. Well, I had better try to sleep a little bit. Big day tomorow.,
