This is fun auction between Chowdowns and Ellis. I wanna hear best reason on why u should get my next batch of polish eggs first. We are gonna make it fun. This auction will end say on Wednesday. And I decide along with my better half on who wins with best story. The person that doesn't win this week has to wait another week for theirs. So either way u will get some eggs. I just wanna make it fun.

Sounds fun but I have 1 question. Can you ship the eggs? If so here's my reason.
I saw the coolest looking bird on a site last year. It's a frizzled polish but it's also mixed with silkie. It took the person quite a while to reach their goal to produce this really cool looking chicken. I told myself that when I could I was going to do the same. I'm sure there are those here that have seen the old show The Monsters and remember cousin IT. This chicken looks like a small version of cousin it except it's frizzled. All you can see of the birds body is it's toes and beak. They started with polish, added frizzled silkie then back again a few times. But since I don't do serious inbreeding i'll be using different frizzled silkies.
So the polish are a project I plan to begin this year. Bobby also wants us to raise some GL polish.

Well, anytime a child can have a learning experience is good. Especially when it's something they love to do and as a family. These days kids just don't want to be involved with anything with their parents. So I believe we've voted for each other. lol
I also can wait till the meeting for eggs if any are available then. It's better than shipping for sure.

Everybody loves pics. I managed to hatch out a WC blue polish bantam roo and I put him with a non crested sizzle. I've gotten several chicks so far. None old enough to tell what the end result will look like. I'll switch hens later and put probably Elvis in with him. She's a black crested sizzle. He's a great roo. Every egg is fertile. I put 9 eggs in the bator and I got 6 chicks. Thats an egg a day from the hen so the oldest egg was 9 days old. I figure the older 3 eggs didn't hatch because they waited too long. I got 1 crested chick out of them all but it isn't frizzled. I have 3 frizzled chicks out of the whole lot so far. I just put more in today. I'll have some hatch around the 13th. This isn't a recent pic but it's the first 2 frizzled ones and they look to be a light lavender maybe. I hate to get my hopes up till they're a couple months old so I have a better idea how they will feather out. Attachments:

Join in on the contest I started for the best poultry pic. I'm giving prizes. First place is a dozen silkie eggs or a pick from my winter hatch. Second place is eggs and third is a chicken related item.
