My name is David and I'm from Memphis. So glad to find this forum, I am a member of Backyard Chickens but its nice to be able to network with local folks. I would love to find out about local swap meets, etc., which is how I happened to find this forum. Also interested in finding someone with some hatching eggs as I have a broody hen who is in BAD need of a clutch of eggs, lol. She will NOT be dissuaded.
I am relatively new to chickens and started my flock last summer, my last hold-out (on laying) finally started to lay last week. I was excited to have a 6/6 laying day! The breeds I have in my little flock of six: Barred Rock, Buff Orpington (2), White LH/RIR mutt(my most prolific layer), and Easter Eggers(2),

Welcome auto5man. We hope you enjoy the forum. We are planning a sale in Millington Tractor Supply but no day set yet. Most likely in April considering this month is almost over.

Welcome auto5man. Are you looking for any particular type of eggs? We can get you some if mutt eggs suffice I was hoping for some Cuckoo Marans (I like choosing my birds by egg color and wanted the dark brown egg), but mutt eggs would make the poor hen happy I'm sure. Unfortunately I let myself get talked into an overtime shift tomorrow, otherwise I was hoping to go to the meet in Jackson. Anyone somewhat close to Memphis that would have some I could pick up Sunday? Thank you all for the warm welcome, I am really glad to have found this site and am lookin forward to the TSC meet when it gets scheduled.

Forgot to add that I had another 6 egg day today !!!!! (6/6 laid, despite the rainy weather). That is only the second 6/6 day I've had since all my hens started laying

Welcome. I always have eggs for hatching. I have bantam sized birds though. I have silkies, sizzles and quail and a pair of oegb's. Silkies are notorious for going broody. Your buff orpingtons are known for it also. I have a silkie hen sitting on 7 ameracauna eggs now. The little lady is doing a great job of sitting on all the eggs to.
