What is the best way to catch a bobcat? We saw one trying to get the Guinea a few mornings ago.

Best way would be to get a large size trap and cover it in brush to form the cage into a den. Keep it human scent free. You can probably find someone near by that sells some scent attractant. If not I think I have a bobcat in the freezer I can thaw out to get the urine from. There are some others on the sight with better trapping skill than me. I prefer hunting them.

I won't be at the one this weekend. That idea with the lights in the eyes is a good idea. One of those that makes a sound when you walk by it would be hilarious. My cat wouldnever come in the house again. Poor little Missy would have a heart attack. She already shivers when the Guinea get close to her. I guess they think she's a walking meal. Little chihuahua wouldn't even be a snack. I was wondering if I put a piece of chicken in the trap. We have some of that scent away stuff for hunters to get the human scent off or cover it up. Whatever that stuff does.

Last time I set out the trap the only thing I caught was a turtle. I tried putting tuna, canned cat food, a dead quail then I had something get to a chicken so I put the remains of it in the trap and thats when I caught the turtle.
I've had one of my splash sizzle youngsters come up missing. No sign of anything. No feathers so I have no idea what happened. It just disappeared.

Are you sure it's a bobcat? Sounds like it could be a fox as well.....just a thought.

Bobby and Gavin both saw the Bobcat. But we do also have a fox living back in the woods behind the house. He's been seen heading towards our backyard but he's never been seen in the yard.....yet. When Bobby and Gavin was hunting they saw 2 young Bobcats so there must be a family back there. I've seen a dead fox or two on the side of the road in the past year so I'm sure there is a family of those too in the area. Less 2
