The link below from the University of Florida will give us some insight for the newer members who intend to show their birds in September as far as prep, conditioning, bathing, etc., for any show or display of your birds you might be involved in. Hope this helps below: edis.ifas.ufl.edu/pdffiles/PS/ps03700.pdfGood luck to anyone planning to show this year! Mike...aka...GARDEN DADDY

Yes, I thought some "official" information might be beneficial to those who are looking to show this year. It is not that much different than taking care of a dog that needs regular grooming and upkeep. One might just separate them and get them groomed and keep them in a cleaner environment, up off the ground and out of direct sunlight for a bit, feed them well and get their feathers in top shape. One really must start early and get them used to being handled, etc. Sounds like I know something but have NEVER shown anything! My Mother always said we kids could do anything we wanted to and in that I have always at least TRIED the things I really wanted to do....
Thanks, guys,
Mike

This is my first show ever. I haven't even been to one. I've decided on 2 birds instead of 3. I'll get them tomorrow and into separate cages. We have the front porch fixed up for the birdies that we either are waiting to grow up a littke before they go outside or are injured and being nursed back to health.
