A few years ago we got some chicks to keep as pets. We quickly got attached to them and wanted to provide the ultimate protection. We did extensive research and decided to get an Anatolian Shepherd Dog (ASD).... and our passion for ASDs was born. The breed is from Turkey and they are livestock guardian dogs (LGDs). Our dog, Zeke, is incredibly smart and does his job very well. We do not have predators...or stray people. (Just for reference, the man in the picture is over 6 feet tall.) Attachments:

He stays out, but enjoys an occasional visit in the house. Also, he comes in with me if I am home by myself and, for any reason, feel the need for protection. He is an absolutely awesome dog - the smartest.

I have an English Shepherd and a 3/4 Australian/1/4 English Shepherd that live in my chicken yard. My predator problems are minimal.
