Everybody loves Noel but I'm thinking she is Pricilla's and MJ's daughter. He's concidered a grey and she's white so I figure thats how Noel got the pattern she did. Since Pricilla is laying we may get another or several like Noel. Hopefully.

I tried to get pics of the black ones. This is the only one that you can see the primaries growing turned out at the tips. Little bugars always crowd up when they see a camera and it's almost impossible to get pics unless I do it individually and it's too late for that. Attachments:

I had done a swap of silkie eggs for guinea eggs back in May. The post office lost my package but it finally arrived 2 weeks later. The day my grandson had the 4 wheeler accident so of course they where left on my counter till I got back from the hospital a week later. So they never got set. So the nice lady said she would send me more guinea eggs or some of her silkies. Well, she sent me out a box of a dozen eggs of all of what she had laying. She told me there are 4 porcelain in the box. Now I just have to do everything right so they hatch. I sure wish I had a broody right now. Those girls are so unreliable. I guess i'm goona have to give them a talking to tomorrow. I have 15 hens it seems at least 1 would be broody. All of my partridge are laying right now which is good because there seems to be a demand for them now and also the sizzles. But not all those are laying. Yep, the girls definately need a talking to. Some of them aren't paying their rent.

Well, Moe is broody but the eggs aren't marked as to which are what color. I would put the porcelain and lavender under her if I knew. I'd also bring her in and give her a nice place to take care of the eggs at. But she can't sit on a dozen eggs. She's just a little lady with a small fanny. lol So they're in the incubator with hopes I get a great hatch rate. Has anybody seen a lavender or a porcelain silkie. They are georgous. The one in the pic is lavender. Not mine as I don't have any.......yet. Attachments:

To get that color youhave to put a lavender hen with a buff roo. Then put the pullets you get from those back in with the roo. Those chicks will be 50% porcelain. Put the porcelain chicks together and it's suppose to be 100% porcelain.

Thats great. I have a dozen to go in the hatcher later tonight. Then I have more silkie and sizzle eggs to go in the incubator. Gotta take out the quail racks and put the chicken racks in the turner. One incubator is full right now. I have 2 broody's now and I just may give them a couple. They may as well do something besides lay around and be lazy. They gotta pay their rent somehow. I'm not hatching anymore quail. I'm done for the year. I have 6 chicks and the 12 due in a few days. I'll make another pen and process the rest. La Mike told me that if I put a light on the bob whites they will lay even in the cold weather. If they do, do want some eggs? Or did you find some already?

Thats really good. I have a dozen due in a few days. I have 1 incubator full of silkie and sizzles. There are 4 or 5 banty eggs in there too. If these next eggs don't sell they'll go in the other bator. There are some perfect silkies up on the auciton that a dozen eggs went for 150.00 last time I looked. I imagine thats why the others eggs aren't selling so well. Shoot, if I could afford it I would be in the auction war with them. They are just perfect. Maybe i'll save up to get in on one of those auctions. There where some Isabela Porelain eggs that went for over $400.00 and if I remember right it was only 6 eggs. Somebody has some porcelains up now but they are nothing like those other ones. Did you let your wife know I have some sizzles. I have 2 black ones. So far the frizzled ones turn out to be pullets and both of these are frizzled. They're about a month old. They're Elvis' babies.

Well, they aren't going anywhere. Looks like i'm starting my winter hatch early. So I should have plenty for her to pick from. I've had a couple quail hatch today. With the weather change, i've had to really keep an eye on the bators.
I've got a little oegb cockereal too. It's barred like it's daddy. I won't be keeping it either. There are already 2 pens of tiny chickens as it is. I don't want to start another one. So all the little banty's will be for sale this spring also. Or sooner if somebody wants them.

Those eggs that where sent to me started out as a dozen and are now in the hatcher as 3. I sure hope I get at least 1 keeper out of them. She has beautiful silkies and I would love to add some of them to my flock. (keeping fingers crossed)
